Mr. Brown is the Founder and CEO of HamptonRock and has over 23 years of financial services and private equity experience. Over the course of Mr. Brown’s career, he has advised public and private businesses in the U.S. and abroad across a broad range of situations and industries. Since founding HamptonRock, Mr. Brown’s advisory practice has largely been focused on family and founder-owned businesses throughout the United States. Prior to founding HamptonRock, Mr. Brown was a Partner at a Boston based private equity firm focused on investments in tech-enabled business services, software, and IT services. Mr. Brown was a member of the investment committee and was responsible for sourcing, executing, and managing investment opportunities.
Prior to his time in private equity, Mr. Brown was a Managing Director and head of multiple industry groups at a Dallas-based advisory firm where he successfully started and built the industrial and energy technology groups into top advisory practices at the firm. Mr. Brown previously worked as a member of the investment banking team with Citigroup in New York and began his investment banking career with Stephens Inc.
Mr. Brown serves on the Board of Directors of the El Dorado and Wesson Railway, Natural Resources, and Triangle Industries. Mr. Brown received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of the South at Sewanee and his Master of Business Administration from Wake Forest University.
